“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding…”
What we need now more than ever before is the knowledge of God. I’m talking about the knowledge of God’s spiritual information and revelation for each day.
This revelation is not just insight we should seek out for big decisions such as marriage, career orientation or in times of sickness; rather it is useful and might I say, even crucial for our daily living. You must have faith in God to access and believe that this type of knowledge is not just about getting answers to tough decisions, but it is about your life, your destiny and that of your loved ones.
Many think that the scholarly knowledge from academic learning is the most important. They believe that their intellect can transform the world; so much so, that they allow themselves to be filled with pride and arrogance to the point that they look down on others.
Readers, don’t get me wrong, education is good but I want you to know that the knowledge God delivers by His spirit and through His word is superior. God’s wisdom knowledge is foundational and essential.
The present day educational system no longer teaches God’s word, Godly principles, and Godly concepts. Many foundational principles in business, investment and law and order come from the Bible. They have kept the subject but dropped the origin. How foolish.
Please note, the Bible addresses this subject more than once, both in the Psalms and the Proverbs to make clear that: “Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!”.
Not only is God real, He is the source of all wisdom. His word encourages us all to seek him and to seek his wisdom.
“Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”(Proverbs 4:7)
You might then wonder, what is wisdom and what is understanding. Well, Proverbs 9:10 helps us understand that: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
In this school of life, God is not a vice-principal, rather He is the principal.
It is of vital importance that those of us who are called by His name begin to understand that the fear of the Lord is essential to our lives. We are living in dangerous times filled with power struggles.
Some men even say that they are more powerful than God! If you really knew the God of the Bible, you would not even think that way or say such things.
Please make an effort to to get the knowledge of God ( Who God is, how God operates, God’s Word).
When we talk about the fear of God, it is to have a reverential fear as a form of respect and submission before the Lord. Some of us fear men ( our spouses, our boss, our children etc.) God is love and He loves us so we ought to revere Him.
Have you ever noticed that the parents and children with the best relationships are composed of a balance of love and discipline, which in turn, cause the children to respect and fear their parents with reverence as not to disappoint them?
Even so, the LORD corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects the son he delights in.(Proverbs 3:12)
However in families where the parent has not exercised that balance, their children are more inclined to fear them because they are scared.
The fear of God brings wisdom, uprightness and blessings whereas the fear of man brings so much negative into our world. So, fear God not man! Right now, the whole world is under lockdown because of the fear of men. The media is feeding our fears with toxic information crippling many with fear, anxiety and paranoia. This information can make us very fearful to the point of even becoming a slave to fear.
Please, dear readers and friends, take responsibility for your life and begin to drive out the fear of men from your mind. Instead, invite peace into your heart. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
Increase your knowledge of God by reading the Bible and praying every day. Be willing to discover what faith is and how it works. Step into a world where all things are possible to them that believe.
