 Montreal Caribbean Fashion Week  May 7-10

The Fashionistas of Montreal will be styling with an island flavor from Thursday, May 7 to Sunday, May 10 when the Montreal Caribbean Fashion Week hits the city this spring.

The four-day event will be a showcase of cutting-edge fashion designers, local and international models, make-up artists, hair stylists and experts in the fashion industry. Top models from Barbados and Grenada will also grace the runway. And to further enhance the Caribbean flavour, there will be steel bands, carnival costumes, Moko Jumbie and more.
It will also be a celebration of 35 years of the Montreal Ebony Models, an organization that over the years has raised over $1.5 million for various charities in and around Montreal.
Another highlight of the Week will be appearances by Jamaican celebrity chef Anthony Mair of Caribbean Culinary Network (CCN) will debut several of his famous chocolate dishes, under the theme “Chocolate, Wine and Fashion.”
Anyone interested in participating in the fashion spectacle, either as a model, up and coming fashion designer, fashion boutique owner, established designer, make-up artists or hair stylist is asked to apply on line at www.playmasmontreal.com. Deadline for models’ applications is February 28. Deadline for designers’ applications is March 15.
