Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to LET GO at some point in order to move forward. [C.S. Lewis]
Letting go of past circumstances, hurts, pain, disappointments is not always easy; but sometimes it’s necessary in order for you to begin to move forward.
You may have a perfectly valid excuse to continue holding on to your hurt, but the thing to ask yourself is how is holding to the pain benefitting you now?
Think about it…
What comes to mind when you think about letting it go?
Do you want to continue holding on to past hurts and disappointments?
Do you want to continue to hold on to your anger and bitterness?
Are you willing to stay stuck?
What do you need to release?
Are you willing to make the necessary changes?
“CRY. FORGIVE. LEARN. MOVE ON. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.” [Steve Maraboli]
Think about…
How “letting it go” will change your life?
Deciding to let go of your past hurt isn’t always easy, but you have to be intentional.
You have to make a decision. You have to work at it.
We’ve all felt justified in holding on to those things that have hurt us and it’s easy to continue to blame others for our present circumstances.
But at some point we have to start taking responsibility for our lives.
Sometimes you can do it alone but sometimes you may need to ask for help…
Do what you need to do.
Take time…
Challenge yourself to begin to exam those circumstances that have held you back from your dreams, your future and your peace, your joy.
Be honest with yourself.
You have to keep it real.
You can’t change what you don’t confront.
The truth may hurt but it also heals.
Take responsibility for your life.
It’s time to RELEASE those things that are holding you back!
Release it all…
Release the turmoil, the conflicts, the hurts, the unforgiveness and the resentments.
It will not be easy and you will feel some discomfort along the way but the end result is worth the effort. It takes hard work and determination.
But…
You have to LET IT GO, in order to continue growing and making progress.
There is hope!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” [Isaiah 43:18-19]
Blessings!
