Woman on Fire Gala Evening ignite relationships between female entrepreneurs and professionals

Allison Harvey has a message for women entrepreneurs in Montreal: “It’s time that we start working together to find the success that we so richly deserve.”
To drive home that point, the self-described Toronto “networking Diva” is bringing her mega-successful Woman on Fire Gala Evening to the city with a stated intention to celebrate, motivate and elevate female entrepreneurs.
“Women in business face double the obstacles and challenges that men do, so it’s important that we all do whatever we can to support and network with each other,” she told the CONTACT in a recent telephone interview.
“Because not only are they jumping into uncharted territory with their business, but they are doing so and many of them must still play the roles of mother, wife and sometimes carry a part-time job on the side.”
And she says many of them do it without family support.
So she fashioned Woman on Fire, as a way for these women to ignite the relationships among themselves in what she describes as a fundamental way.
“That’s basically what Woman on Fire is about… relationships,” says the Trinidad- born Harvey, who accumulated decades of experience in sales and marketing in Toronto on her way to building one of Canada’s most extensive network for women female entrepreneurs and professionals.
The Gala event was launched in Toronto in 2013 as just a small get together for about 20 women. Today it attracts over 150 who revel not only in the glitz and glamour of the evening, but also in the opportunity to be among like-minded individuals.
Harvey has also added another element to the evening, presenting awards to women who have distinguished themselves in life and business.
They include The Young Entrepreneur Award, Community Activist Award, Single Mothers Award, Media Award, Business Woman of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award.
This year, Harvey is set to take Woman of Fire to three other cities, including Montreal, Vancouver and Miami.
