An Evening of Celebration at MCSO

On Saturday, November 12, members and supporters of the Montreal Cultural and Social Organization (MCSO) gathered at the association’s hall on Newman Avenue in LaSalle to celebrate its 39th anniversary.
It was a packed house with members of supporting organizations journeying from the United States for the celebration.
The featured address was delivered by Egbert Gaye, managing editor of the CONTACT who spoke about the move towards community viability.
Representatives of the Jamaica Progressive League of Hartford and the New Britain Social Club of Connecticut delivered a message of support and fellowship to the officers and members of the host organization.
Mrs. Jannett Ridguard, president of the MCSO, offered the welcoming remarks and presented an award of appreciation to long-standing member Ms. Erma Weekes.
There were spectacular performances by Pete Douglas and George Fennell who was also joined by his partner Ms. Debra Marshall.
DJ Clinton and New Concept Crew provided music for dining and dancing.
Ms. Arline Forbes did a remarkable job as master of ceremonies.
Many community associations were on hand to celebrate with the MCSO, including the Jamaica Association of Montreal, Chateauguay Horizons and the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Montreal.
