Uplifting Celebration for Montreal West Choir

The celebration was uplifting and fitting as music lovers, members of the church family from across Montreal joined the congregation of the Montreal West Church of God of Prophecy on Saturday, November 7, to mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of the institution’s choir.
Founded by Sister Bernice Gayle as part of the MCOGP’s Women’s Ministry back in 1985, the choir has grown to be a musical force in the city; its anniversary celebration was a fitting tribute.
For much of the evening the audience that packed the church hall was on their feet dancing to stars of the local gospel scene, including a stirring performance by saxophonist Dexter Johnston.
But the highlight was without doubt the guests of honor, the Montreal West Gospel Choir, still under the direction of Sister Gayle, with a captivating repertoire of songs that made the evening an inspiring ministry of music and praise.
Among the many special guests present were founding pastor Aston Cole and his wife Dorel Cole together with other past spiritual leaders, including Pastor Trevor Reid, Bishop Leroy Greenaway and wife Christine, Pastor Lee and wife Dottie and current pastor Joel Anderson and wife Sandra.
