Florence Phillips
It is with great sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Florence Phillips, on June 7th. Florence was 99 years young when she passed away in palliative care at the Centre d’Hébergement Champlain in Verdun. She lived life to the fullest and cherished every moment by dancing, travelling, and celebrating with family and friends whenever possible – these brought her immense joy. Everyone was always welcome to join her at her favourite breakfast hangout – Peddlers in Ville LaSalle. She will be remembered by her children, grandchildren as well as her great-grandchildren and extended family as a matriarch whose love of life was incomparable.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral or services held in her memory. However, a private family event will be hosted later. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Reverend Dr. Charles Este Scholarship at the Union United Church, 3007 rue Delisle, Montreal H4C 1M8 – https://www.unionunitedchurchmtl.ca/.
Remembering
Marilyn and Margo Fonseca
In loving memory of our beloved sisters who lost their lives in the terrible tragedy \at Ile Bizard on July 12, 1954.
I think of you both with love today
As I have done so often.
And feel again the bitter blow,
That never seems to soften,
Days of sadness often come,
Tears in silence flow
What it meant to lose our Marilyn and Margo
No one will ever know…
Sadly missed by your brother
Edgar Jr.
