Negative Self-Talk
Beverley Benskin
What you’re thinking about today will create the life you experience tomorrow.
Take some time to think about what you say to yourself about yourself.
Negative self-talk is an inner dialogue that you have with yourself.
Our negative thoughts can shape our destiny; so pay attention to what you are thinking.
You might be surprised at what you discover!
Remember:
Just because you think something doesn’t mean it’s true.
You can change the way you think! You can change those negative thoughts.
But…
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” – A. Einstein
This week:
If you’ve noticed that your present way of thinking, when responding to situations or circumstances still isn’t working for you.
Then…
Decide to think, do, speak or act differently.
It could turn everything around!
Be kind and patient with yourself as you begin to change your negative self-talk because change doesn’t happen overnight.
But know that when we change the way we think… we change.
Remember also: * you can’t change anyone but yourself
* change is not always easy, but it is possible
* don’t be afraid of change
* change is inevitable
* embrace change and don’t run from it
* ask for help when you need it
You have to learn a new way of thinking before you can master a new way to be, but it is possible.
Be mindful of your inner critic throughout the day.
After reading this, take some time to recognize some of those negative thoughts that you’ve been thinking about yourself.
Write them down and begin to replace those thoughts with something positive.
New thoughts… new patterns of behavior, new hope and a new you!
Change things up and things could actually CHANGE!
