Do you have a prophetic voice?

Do you have a prophetic voice?

Dear readers, it is time to get a prophetic voice. The prophetic voice is twofold. On the one hand you need a voice to speak God’s prophetic truth in your life.
Every king in ancient Israel and Judah had a prophet to speak to them prophetically as the oracle of God. This prophet was also there to guide, to advise, and to realign the king to the will of God. The prophet was a voice to the king and also to the nation. It was the prophet Samuel who gave the battle instruction to king Saul to which his response meant keeping or losing his kingdom.
The prophet Elisha gave his king an instruction that was linked to the degree of victory he would have over his enemy. Elisha said, “Get a bow and some arrows,” and he did so. “Take the bow in your hands,” he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.
“Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it. “Shoot!” Elisha said, and he shot. “The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared. “You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.”
Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and the king took them. Elisha told him, “Strike the ground.” He struck it three times and stopped. The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.”
This is the prophetic voice. God works a lot through the prophetic. Prophetic instructions that are directly linked to your life and a specific outcome.
Other times, the prophetic voice speaks because the Lord has seen and heard your actions. The Lord will, when necessary, send a prophet to warn but also to speak judgement like when king Hezekiah was told to get his house in order because he was going to die. The Lord could have allowed him to die but instead he sent His prophet. If you read that story you will see the power of prayer and the prophetic working together. God truly hears when you pray and there are men and women of God who hear and do the Lord’s will on the earth.
Like when king David sinned before God and angered Him greatly with regards to Bathsheba and Uriah. God sent the prophet Nathan to pronounce a judgement upon the king for his actions but in His loving kindness the Lord forgave King David and spared his life. All of this was communicated through the prophetic voice of Nathan the prophet.
God has men and women strategically positioned with ears to hear what the Lord is saying and with the mandate to instruct you prophetically, direct you and realign you.
On the other hand, you need to also learn to speak the word of God over your life, your family, your community etc. God spoke to the prophet Ezekiel to speak prophetically to dry bones that were, in fact, meant to be a great army. God spoke to the man of God and had him speak the same exact words to the dry bones and the outcome was a great transformation. I encourage you to read that event in of the Bible. Do you see how the prophetic can bring great transformation, miracles and blessings.
May you connect with the man or woman of God that the Lord has assigned to speak into your life prophetically and May you speak God’s word over your life prophetically. Speak God’s word over your family, your country, your schools, your workplaces and see the power of God’s prophetic voice in your life.
At House of Prayer for all Nations church we respect the prophetic voice in worship and preaching of the word of God. Join us on Sundays at 12pm noon to hear what the Lord has to say to you.
