In the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown we celebrate

Montreal heads into 18-day lockdown; non-essential businesses to close from Dec. 25 to Jan. 11. No holiday gathering in the red zones as the Covid-19 cases continue to increase. The only exception will be for people who live alone, as they will allowed to receive one visitor at a time.
Seem as though most of us will be spending Christmas alone. Whether it’s by choice or circumstance, it’s important to try and ease loneliness and focus on the positives. This Christmas, it feels more important than ever to show our friends and family how much they mean to us, even if we can’t all physically meet up. We all have it in our power to reduce loneliness, whether that’s through making a phone call, sending a Christmas card or seeing someone for a socially distanced minute.

The 14th annual Christmas show on CKUT title “Island Riddims”.

December 25th 2020 will mark my 14th anniversary hosting the annual Christmas Show title “Island Riddims” live on CKUT 90.3FM, with a special co-host this year in the person of Rachel.
Unfortunately this year’s show will be shorter and from 2pm to 5pm on Christmas Day on CKUT 90.3FM (www.ckut.ca).
As always we will be taking live greetings on air by calling 514 448-4013 and definitely we be playing the best in Parang / Soca / Reggae.
The lockdown, which Premier Legault dubbed a “pause” and “the holiday break,” will also see the province’s elementary schools have their holiday break extended to Jan. 11.
Previously, elementary schools were supposed to reopen on Jan. 4.
High schools will have an extended holiday break between Dec. 17 to Jan. 11. Legault warned school-age children that their extended break could include some remote learning and homework. The province’s daycares will remain open, but Legault called on all parents who are able to keep their children at home to do so. I suggest you used this time to cook, decorate and educate the kids about our annual Christmas traditions.
Lets not forget that Christmas traditions can provide comfort and is the blueprint of things to do during these times. Be Safe and Season Greetings.
