Each year, as the yuletide season approaches, most people go into preparation mode, busying themselves with all things Christmas. But there are always those for whom the season of joy and merriment is anything but.
To that end, Trinity Pentecostal Church is once again preparing to do what it has done for the past seven years through its Annual Christmas Community Outreach mission: helping others.
In the spirit of the Christmas tradition, the church has been inviting 350 less fortunate children and their parents (most of whom are single), the unemployed and others who are currently experiencing difficulties, and/or those who need hope and encouragement at this special time of the year to come out and partake in its annual Christmas Winter Wonderland celebration. This year is the 8th anniversary of the event.
As in past years, Trinity Pentecostal Church Community Outreach is counting on the support of the business community and individuals to make this annual event possible through their donations. Among others we’re partnering with the CLSC and their cadre of social workers to provide the names of deserved families, including moms and children from women’s shelters.
Christmas is a time of merriment, so there will be lots in store to make this a memorable one for all in attendance, especially the kids. There will be fun activities for all: blow-ups, face painting, crafts, cookie baking, hot chocolate, candy bags, and a toy for each child.
Each family will receive a family a family photo, a frozen turkey, a food basket with all the trimmings for Christmas day, and a gift certificate from Loblaw’s.
Trinity Pentecostal Church Wonderland celebration is about people helping people. And we’re looking for your support; your financial help will enable us to make this yuletide event a reality.
