It’s time to listen for the still small voice of God.
So much is being said these days; by politicians, governments, news networks and on social media. It seems everyone has something to say and many of us are eager to listen and hear what they are saying too.
Some of us have not missed a single report from the prime minister or the premier since the beginning of the pandemic.
You are faithful to tune in to hear their every word and have paid close attention to make note of the updates and the new decrees.
Have you considered what God is saying?
Amidst all the opinions and all the noise, how many of us have tuned in to hear what God is saying; About the pandemic, about our lives, about our families, and His promises?
It’s time to listen closely. The Bible tells us in John 10:27: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”.
This tells us that God is speaking but we must be able to identify his voice and follow.
In order to hear what God is saying we need to be open to trust and believe His word. Because His word is true.
In the Bible there are many examples of God speaking through prophets and back then the people would listen to them to know what God was saying. Do you know that there are still prophets today receiving and delivering God’s word to the nation?
Yes, the prophetic ministry is still very effective today. This is God’s spoken word.
Nowadays, we are so fortunate to have access to God’s written word: The Bible. It is timeless and forever relevant to every issue man may face. But more than any generation before us, we can access God’s word at any time, anywhere… on computers, smartphones, CDs and radios. But the children of Israel only had the prophets and the book of the law; yet they would listen attentively to hear what God had to say. Many even learned the scriptures by heart after hearing it from their fathers.
So with all the technology and access to God’s written word how much are we reading and listening to hear what He has to say? What he has to say about sickness, what He has to say about worry, about fear, finance, friendships etc. Every area of life is covered in God’s word. He is a loving father giving advice, guidance, correction, comfort, and peace through his word.
Dear readers, I encourage you to take some time today and hear what God has to say. The more you listen to God’s word and read the Bible; is the more You will begin to hear God’s voice because God is still speaking.
He is still encouraging, still counselling and comforting. All of his precepts, all of his promises and wisdom are found in his word ( written and spoken).
When the church doors open again, I invite you to come to the Father’s house to hear what God is saying through His servant. Until then and as always, I invite you to read, engage and hear what God is saying by reading the Bible.

Good day Miss Julianna. I just read your article “God is still speaking …Are we listening?” from the February 26 2021 Community Contact. I agree with much of what you stated that the Bible is God’s word and its relevance today. The issue that I want to clarify is from John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me”. This quote was not God speaking, rather it was his son Jesus Christ who addressed those words to the Jews in the temple in Jerusalem when they were asking him to confirm that he was the Christ. The point of my comment is to state that God and Jesus are clearly 2 different beings.
