Sweet Reggae Valentine at Club Lambi
It will be a two-night Reggae invasion at Club Lambi on February 10 and 11, as 21 of Montreal’s leading artists take to the stage in a celebration of what would have been the Bob Marley’s 72 birthday.
The event, now in its second year is a production of INUS ASO one of the city’s top reggae bands and its leader Buninus Neil. The vibes at the 2016 show at Club Soda was infectious and organizers are promising more this year.
Listed to hit the stage at Club Lambi are a mix of emerging and veteran reggae performers including: Juliet Nelson, Prophecy Izis, Shakky Allyene, King Shadrock, Kaya Laflamme, Dan Doucet, Nix Mayo, Flo, Kaisha Lee, Makoumba, Robert Bowin, Saboo, Rasta Line, Kali, Kya Kindu, Dan Fiyahbeats, Takeyce-Ti, Zebe Bass Man, Cheche and Buninus Neil. All will be backed by Inus Aso Reggae Band

TEA PARTY TO HONOUR SIX TRAIL-BLAZING WOMEN OF SONG IN MONTREAL

For Playmas Montreal Cultural Association has honoured eight consecutive years almost 50 women in our community for their tenacity, drive, community involvement and success.
The six women being honoured this year are from the world of music, so the audience is invited to wear their gloves and hat and get Jazzy.
Jazz singers Ranee Lee, Kim Richardson, Vivienne Deane, Michelle Sweeney, R&B singer Geraldine Hunt (mother of the popular Freddie James) and Gospel Sensation Zina Edwards will receive the “Woman of Merit” Award on Sunday, March 5, at A Taste of Tea – a Caribbean Tea Party.
The public is invited to come out to 6767 Côte-des-Neiges, Main Ballroom, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to witness and enjoy “A Taste of Tea and All That Jazz” honouring these six trailblazing women of Jazz and Gospel, presented by Playmas Montreal Cultural Association.
In addition to recognizing the 106th International Women’s Day, this will also be a celebration of the 8th anniversary of this very successful and fun Caribbean Tea Party.
Experience the tradition and indulge in the ritual of tea drinking accompanied by the most delicious tea delicacies, live entertainment featuring Joey The Saxman, Skipper Dean (formerly of The Platters) and the P&M Dance Performers. The afternoon’s activities will also include a special surprise guest, a Teacup Competition, lots of great door prizes, wonderful Caribbean treats and much fun. Music by DJ610 and DJ Abna.
