Embracing acceptance is a powerful tool in navigating life’s challenges. It allows us to let go of the past, have faith in the future, and find peace in the present.
While you may not be able to alter your circumstances, you hold the reins over how you respond to them, and what aspects you can change.
Virginia Satir said, “Life is not what it’s supposed to be.
It’s what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.”
Remember, your attitude and perspective are important. There’s always a fresh angle to view things from. There’s always a new way to react to a situation; sometimes, we just need to recalibrate our expectations.
Life is constantly changing around us, and we have to decide not to get stuck in the expectation that things will always remain the same, even though that’s what we may want.
Flexibility and adaptability are not just survival skills, they are the keys to empowerment in life’s journey. We must be willing to adjust to circumstances beyond our control, to go with the flow, and to be teachable. This is how we not only survive but thrive in the face of challenges.
I love this quote from Steve Maraboli, “Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”
Acceptance is not always easy, but no one ever said it was supposed to be. I believe that if you begin to accept your present reality, you will find a sense of balance and peace in the process.
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
Charles Swindoll
How are you going to choose to react when the next challenge arises?
This week, you have a chance to embrace a new attitude, a new perspective, and renewed hope for the present and future.
Be encouraged. Accept what is and change what you have the power to change. I encourage you to reflect on these words and consider how you can apply them in your life today.
