Deliverance Church of God 7th Day’s landmark service on Oct. 22
Contact Staff
It has been a long and winding road for the members of the Deliverance Church of God 7th Day since they set out to establish a small ministry in the west end of Montreal, but driven by unyielding faith in their mission, nothing fazes them.
Since launching their church, the all-women congregation has embarked on a course of outreach and service so regularly they can be found among the homeless in downtown Montreal offering food, clothing and sleeping bags.
Also, throughout the year they host several fundraising events all geared towards lending a hand to those in need here in Montreal and, when the opportunity presents itself, in Jamaica and other Caribbean islands.
In the past two years they have made significant donations to the Old Brewery Mission.
On October 22, the congregation celebrates its third anniversary with a landmark service that will be highlighted by a feature address by Pastor Merrick Myrie of the Bethlehem United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic.
A Goodwill lunch and the offering of several food baskets will follow the service to any one in need. (They’re asking that the baskets be reserved by calling in advance. They will be given on a first-come basis).
The service will be held at the church’s headquarters, 4020 Grand Boulevard, in NDG between 1:30 and 3:30 PM. Info. 514-736-0650.
