Organizers of the upcoming mega concert “It’s A New Season” say Montreal is in for an evening of Caribbean Gospel music like never experienced here before
The  show comes at a time when many believe that the Gospel scene in the city needs a bit of a revival, so in their efforts “to spread the gospel in song”, organizers have put together a solid line-up of local stars to share the stage with two internationally-renowned artists.
Montreal will be represented by some of our best, Zina Edwards and the Fitz-Patrick Sisters.
Ever since she hit the local Gospel circuit as a member of the Gospel Heralds, Zina has been on an upward trajectory leading to her becoming one of the top solo performers in the city. Over the years she has been on stage with many icons of Gospel music performing in cities across North America, Europe and the Caribbean.
The Fitz-Patrick Sisters are described as one of Montreal’s best kept secrets. This multi-talented duo come with a super package of talent and stage presence. With a compelling repertoire, their every performance has been a delight to experience and will be a musical treat for the massive crowd expected at the upcoming concert.
Janet Lewis is one of the big out-of-town stars coming for the show. She is no stranger to Montreal and is easily indentified by a single phrase: “Her shoes may have holes, but she hasn’t lost her soul.”
Undoubtedly, the star of the evening will be Jamaica’s top-ranking Gospel reggae artist, Papa San. Over the years he has thrilled music lovers with a laundry list of hits and remains one of the most popular artistes coming out of Jamaica. One of his latest releases, “Kiss Teeth”, is making waves on itunes.
Organizers say this event will provide the Gospel fans with a variety of styles: traditional, contemporary or reggae and warns music lovers: “Expect to be moved.”
“It’s A New Season” takes place on Sunday, May 28th when all roads lead to Evangel Pentecostal Church, 1235 Rue Lambert-Closse across from the old Children’s Hospital. The cost is reasonable, $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.
