Come One, Come All – Our Grenadian Community & Friends of Grenada are invited to Montreal’s grand celebration of our 50+1 Anniversary of Independence on Saturday, February 15, 2025 @ the Polish Hall in Montreal. This year’s Gala is hosted by the Grenada Nationals Association of Montreal, Inc. (GNAM) and the Spice Island Cultural Day Association of Quebec (SICDAQ), in collaboration with the Consul General of Grenada in Toronto, Mr. Gerry Hopkin.
The event will mark the end of Grenada’s Golden – 50th – Anniversary of Independence, and usher in its 51st. year. Throughout 2024, our Island nation of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique saw the exhibition of a number of impressive celebrations throughout the Nation. These allowed for most, no matter their status, political affiliation, location and resources, to share and participate in this historical achievement. Many cultural activities showcased and spotlighted the parishes special cultural expressions such as dances, drumming, singing, artwork, the awarding of plaques and trophies to honor and recognize the contributions and efforts of many who have served in nation-building over the past 50 years and the installation of banners/landmarks recognizing some of our ancestors and historical sights and places.
Patrons will be treated to a sumptuous Caribbean meal, great music provided by DJ 20/20, song, dance, and spoken word. In addition, during the evening, deserving students will be presented with bursaries to assist them in their academic pursuits and some nationals will be honored for their dedication and support to the community. The event gets underway starting at 6:00 p.m., with cocktails.

Be part of the ongoing annual acknowledgement of our independence from Great Britain, February 7, 1974, obtained by our Father of Independence Sir Eric Matthew Gairy, 1st Prime Minister of Grenada. Let’s continue to give praise and thanks for what fuels us to build a strong and resilient Nation as we continue moving Up! Up! Up as One People, One Journey, One Future!
