Venice (Vince) Cardette
1935 – 2024
Venice Cardette or Vince as he was known to all, passed away on February 8, 2024.
He was a loving partner, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. Vince is survived his love Diane, his daughter Cathy, and granddaughters Shadea and Ophany.
Vince was a charismatic, classy man, who loved style, fine wine, and good music, especially jazz. He used to call his daughter Rabbit, Shadea Princess and Ophany Smarty. His catchphrase if he couldn’t reach you on the phone was “Vince here, Vince here” or “Grampa here, Grampa here”.
Venice Paul Cardette, as he is known by his sisters Joan, Judy, Shirley, Margaret, Bernet, also his brothers Cyne, and Lonax, nickname Scottie.
Vince exemplified what it meant to live life in the moment and to live life to its fullest.
He will be truly missed.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney Dowers, a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, colleague, and friend, who left this world on February 9, 2024, at the age of 52 leaving behind a legacy of creativity, passion, and kindness.
Rodney was born on April 20, 1971, in Montreal, Quebec where he attended La Salle High School. After high school, Rodney completed his education in Social Sciences at Dawson College and then proceeded to complete his education in Systems Analyst at Herzing Institute of Technology. Upon graduating, Rodney pursued his passion for technology and attended Concordia University for Computer Engineering, where his lifelong journey of creativity began. As a Visual Effects Manager in the film industry, Rodney’s creative genius graced the screens of cinemas worldwide. His contributions to cinematic masterpieces such as “The Predator,” “Aquaman,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” and many others earned him accolades and admiration from colleagues and audiences alike. His innovative spirit and dedication to his craft left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rodney was a man of many passions. A skilled bowler, he soared to victory on the lanes, claiming numerous championships and earning the respect of his peers. His love for the sport brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories of camaraderie and friendly competition. Rodney also had a deep love for gaming, spending countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, and his collection of comic books and collectible action figures was a testament to his passion for storytelling and pop culture.
Rodney is survived by his parents, Merle, and Steven; his stepmother, Junie; his children, Jasmine, Aya, Nathaniel, Gabriella, Thomas, and Catherine; his siblings, Janice, Monica, and Brian; and a multitude of family members, friends, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
Though Rodney may no longer walk among us, his legacy of creativity, passion, and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his gentle soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
A celebration of Rodney’s life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Kane Fetterly located at 5301 Decarie Blvd, Montreal, Quebec. The viewing will take place from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm, the service will take place from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, and the repass will commence at 3:00pm. Friends, family, and community members are invited to share their memories and pay tribute to a man whose legacy will be cherished for years to come.
Rest in peace, dear Rodney. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the stories you’ve helped bring to life and the lives you’ve touched along the way.
