LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS

LET’S GIVE THEM A HAND ON APRIL 15.

If you missed Eddie and Quincy Bullen during Black History Month, you will have another chance.
On April 15, Eddie and Quincy Bullen, “Father & Son Dueling Pianos”, will be amongst the great artistes performing at “LET’S HEAR IT 4 THE BOYS,” a Musical Luncheon produced by Playmas Montreal to honor some of the male role models in our community.  This will be held at the Days Inn, 4545 Cote Vertu, Ville St. Laurent.
“The Black Man Merit Award”, which recognizes the accomplishments within the community and professional arenas of Black Men and Boys who embody the definition of a positive Black male image, will be bestowed on four fathers: Leonard Wharwood Jr, co-owner of Karib Shipping Ltd and Honorary Consul for Grenada in Quebec; Mr. Michael Farkas, Director of Youth in Motion and President of The Black History Month Round Table; Mr. Tony Taitt, Businessman and Security to the Stars; and Mr. Eddie Bullen, Pianist, songwriter, arranger and producer.
Come and also meet some of the brightest young male stars in our community who are role models in their fields of Medicine, Law, Business, Banking, Firefighting, Culinary Arts as they present the awards to the four Fathers:
Dr. Marcel Edwards, PhD, M.D., President and CEO of EMI Medical will be the Keynote Speaker in addition to being a presenter.  The Master of Ceremonies responsibilities will be carried out by Maitre Akil Alleyne, a 2008 graduate of Princeton University and a 2013 graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, where his major areas of study ware constitutional and international law.
“Boys To Men Presenters”, all under the age of 35, will include: Jae-Anthony-Culinary Arts; Kevin Baynes-Banking; Quincy Bullen-The Performing Arts;  Amoin Njonkou – Law;  Jelani Clarke-Medicine; Roland Gilbert-Business; Alberto Syllion, Firefighter.
Tickets for this event are only $35.00 and this includes a 19-menu buffet option, plus musical entertainment from CeCe Walker, Guerschon Auguste, Hervie Piquant and Doggies.
Let’s Hear It 4 The Boys offers golden opportunity to relax, eat, drink and enjoy a wonderful Spring Sunday afternoon Luncheon with sweet jazz, calypso, reggae on the dueling pianos with Eddie & Quincy Bullen. W.I.B.C.A Seniors Spring Tea

W.I.B.C.A Seniors present its 10th Victorian Spring Tea. It’s a chance to don your fancy hats and whatnot at Pierrefonds Cultural Centre, 13850 Gouin Blvd., West, in Pierrefonds. Antigua & Barbuda Mother’s Day

This year, members of the Antigua and Barbuda community will pay homage to one of their outstanding citizens, Ms. Janice Mike, at their annual pre-Mother’s Day Brunch on May 6. The event, organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Montreal, takes place at Le Manoir, 5319 Notre Dame de Grace in NDG. It gets underway at 2 PM. C.D.N Daycare Banquet May 26

The Centre de la Petite Enfance Cote Des Neiges Inc. invites all to their anniversary banquet and ball. It’s a celebration of  45 years of child care service in Quebec. Special guests will include Cleopatra Marshall, Mireille Philosca, West Can Performers, Cece Walker, Pete Douglas, and others. Black Aging City African American Tour
The Council for Black Aging Community of Montreal, Inc. is organizing a trip to Washington, DC. It’s our 30th anniversary tour, so join us for this historic event as we visit various sights in the U.S. Capital and increase your Black history knowledge in the process. We’ll visit multiple historic landmarks and sights, such as the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Memorial, African American Civil War Memorial, African, Smithsonian’s National Museum of African, and many other places and sights.
