Dr. Clement Ligoure’s House in Halifax

There’s a little house on North Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia standing today as a rental property but for Black Haligonians is a repository of history that must be protected. GROWING OLDER, LIVING LONGER: A PLUS, PLUS

Dr. Alwin Spence. January 1, 2023, my oldest sister celebrated her 90th. birthday. I also know of others who will reach that milestone this year. Some are in very good health physically and mentally, while others are showing signs of decline. My mother passed away at the relatively young age of 60, while my father passed on at 81. Already I have outlived my parents and I hope that I could reach my sister’s age and beyond. So my question is. What determines longevity, that is the number of years a person can expect to live? Well how long, and …

Unclutter Your Life

I’ve just completed an almost five-month home renovation. I camped out in one of the spare bedrooms, where I slept, worked, and believe it or not, cooked. Everything in the house had to be packed up and stored in boxes and bags for months, and I realized that as the renovation came to a close, I probably didn’t need half of the things that I put in the boxes. So… it’s time to simplify, it’s time to de-clutter. Is it time for you to think about de-cluttering your life? Is it time to get rid of all of the excess …

Don’t Run From God, Run to Him And Win!

Dear readers, it’s time to forget and let go of fear, worry and shame. These three comrades form an entity that wants to cripple you and manipulate you to not trust God. Some of us attempt to run and hide from God because of the things we do and say when the weight of this trio presses on our hearts and minds. In the midst of fear, worry and shame many hide from God. Oh beloved do not run from Him, rather I encourage you to run to Him. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the light that dispels …
