Spring hasn’t officially sprung, but it’s right around the corner. Despite enjoying a milder than usual winter, we’re anticipating the season of renewal. The entertainment industry amps up releases considerably during this period, and I came across several interesting projects that will be available soon.
Canadian rap export phenomenon Drake promises to release his next studio album entitled “Views from the 6”. The streets have been buzzing since he dropped “Summer Sixteen” earlier this year. A no-holds barred braggadocios track that pulls no punches, Drizzy has definitely and firmly cemented himself in the music scene with lines like “Oh it’s your time now” yeah, that’s what everybody say I used to wanna be on Roc-A-Fella then I turned into Jay
Now I got a house in LA, Now I got a bigger pool than Ye.
Sixteen years ago, James Todd Smith’s mama told him to knock you out. After recently announcing his retirement, LL Cool J recently hit twitter with a rant announcing his return. Personally, I don’t think the world is craving a new Cool J album; however, he claims he’s coming to “massacre the rap game.” As they say only time will tell, but I doubt many or anyone would bet on it.
Despite the blatant Hollywood blackout at the awards this past February, and several before that, the movie-making machine keeps grinding as usual. It has been a decade since we hung out at Calvin’s Barber Shop. Looks like we’ll get a chance to revisit Barber Shop: “The Next Cut” in mid-April. All your favourite characters will be there; the most notable change will be the upgraded surroundings.
Speaking of sequels, I recently read about plans to make not only a Bad Boys 3 for 2017, but also a Bad Boys 4 for 2019.
Back by demand will be Montreal’s original party rocking Djs present “Return of the Legends 2”.
Easter Sunday, March 27, join Mike Tuff Williams, LDG and the almighty flight at Firm Club lounge. Prepare for a musical journey from yesterday’s hits to today’s hottest. This event will reach capacity early; don’t be late.
One day before, on March 26, I’d like to invite all my friends and fellow Aries to the annual Aries Affair taking place at the MCSO, with special guests from NYC, Joe Bailey, the peoples’ choice, 20/20, and yours truly. Join us as we celebrate the birthdays of Stella, Gordon Boucher and others. Dope Girl Triigga and Mz Twinz will be your hosts for this Easter Extravaganza.
Spring and Easter symbolize a rebirth, resurrection and renewal. Use this energy to revamp and face the future and your fears. Success will be waiting on the other side.
That’s what’s going on.
