Chastitie is Miss Montreal Carnival Queen 2018

On  June 2 a new Miss Montreal Carnival Queen  was crowned in front of a full house at Le Manior.
Chastitie Greaves representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines walked away with the coveted crown and in the process  sweeping all the categories including  Miss Photogenic, Miss Social Media, Best Evening Walk and Best Swimwear.
Kendra Corion Miss Grenada was  2n and earned the People’s Choice award while Venetta Solena Gordon, Miss Jamaica placed 3rd and won Best Talent segment.
Organizers extend a big “thank you’  to their sponsors, Aldon INC, Indie Roots Records, Team Greenz and the Julian Sisters, Mad Fashion -Angela Alexis, Carton Fashion-Carton Daley, MUA: Shanique Maule, Sparkles Boutique, Sassy Styles, CJLO and Community Contact and to DJ Nicholas and DJ Professor,

They GLOWED at Miss Tiara 2018

Nefateri Aneksi-Bakel, Joanaye Christie and Tamia Kagan Dubique emerged the big winners at Little Miss Tiara Pageant 2018, staged on Sunday, May 20, at 6767 Cote des Neiges.
The three girls impressed the judges with their poise and talent at a jam-packed show in which the competition was tough and the sold-out audience super excited.
Young Miss Nefateri Aneksi easily took the 6 to 9 age group and also won the Best Talent.
Aiyannah June Richardson was 1st runner-up and grabbed the Miss Photogenic segment, while seven year-old Nyla Aliaah Furneau won the Best Evening Walk.
In the 10 to 12 age group 11 year-old Joanaye also won Best Talent segment while Mecca Carter won Miss Photogenic and Best Evening Walk segments.
In the 13 – 15 age group, 13 year-old Tamia also took the Miss Photogenic and Best Evening Walk segments while Jenna Noel and Kenisha Fisher won Best Talent.
Organizer Dawn McNichol commended the sold-out audience for their enthusiastic support and thanked the judges, photographer, master of ceremonies and all who assisted in making the event a success.

 

Caribbean Cuisine and music on menu at Food Factory

Montrealers in search of live music and the very best in Caribbean food now have a place to go.
The new Caribbean Food Factory Restaurant in NDG has already acquired a reputation for its flavorful and flavor-filled serving of jerk chicken, oxtail and fishplates as well as its daily variety of soups.
Now they’ve added a weekly serving of good music to their menu.
So music lovers have a place to go every Friday where live reggae bands and deejays will be on hand to deliver the best in reggae, rap, R&B, Soul and Soca. Among those lined up to nice up the place at 5311 De Maisonneuve are two of Ottawa’s top reggae bands, Roots Movement and Vibes, together with Montreal’s Jah Cutta and Determination as well as The Uprising Band.
The first show of Unity Fridays is on June 8 at 9 PM. Entrance is free.
On Saturday, May 19, patrons had a taste of what’s to come at the Caribbean Food Factory when they were treated to an intimate post-Mother’s Day concert by a lineup of top Montreal performers, including Mello G, Singer Robin, Martin Albino and Jah Cutta.
The official opening of the food factory is scheduled for August 3, with a special appearance by reggae superstar Luciano.
