Ottawa’s CariVibe: An enjoyable trip

Contact Staff

On Saturday, June 16,  all roads led to Ottawa for a lot of Montrealers eager to take-in the return of the CariVibe parade to the streets of the capital city.
Well… at least we had a chance to leave Montreal for part of the day.
The little parade with about seven to eight bands   didn’t offer too much for on-lookers but was a fun diversion from the scorching heat and another opportunity to enjoy some of the 2018 Soca as well as some zouk and music from other Caribbean islands.
In about an hour and a half it was all done with a small but overly enthusiastic column of Jab Army marauders bringing up the rear of the parade.
By 2 PM much of the younger revelers were making their way to the Orleans Beach where they say the scene was nice enough, while the older heads were on the Highway 417 for the trip back to the good old Montreal.
Good try CariVibe.
