Looking for participant between 10-18 years of age to explore the art of deejaying

Attention all aspiring deejays and music lovers, Overture With The Arts (OWTA) will be providing an eight week workshop on the art of DJing.
The West Island based organization is looking for participants between the ages of 10-18, who need not have any previous experience.
I have the honor and pleasure to have been chosen as the instructor for the upcoming session. We will introduce students to the various equipment from analog to digital.
With 20 years experience as a deejay, broadcaster and all around music man, I will share my knowledge of the art form.
This is an introductory workshop and we will teach you basic mixing, scratching, and counting measures and other fundamentals to get you to another level. All the equipment will be provided courtesy of OWTA. As previously mentioned I will show you how vinyl and turntables work in comparison to CDs and digital software.
At some point we all started in a home bedroom or basement. Eventually some of you will want to venture out and showcase your talents for an audience. I will give you an insiders-look on the business and how to grow.
From spinning in my bedroom to church basements to clubs and on radio, I have played along some of the biggest names in the business including FunkFlex, Dr Jay, Stone Love and our very own world famous A-Trak to name a few. I’ll share these stories and lots more.
If you wanna learn something new or expand on what you’ve started, this program is for you.

The workshops begins on May 4th and run for eight consecutive Saturdays at Riverdale High-School.
Interested participants can visit owta.org for more info and details. Its first come first served and space is limited. This is a free program. Do not delay!!!
