NDG Centre collecting School Supplies For Needy Kids

Within the next two weeks children will be returning to school to continue another leg of their long academic journey.
But not every child will be prepared (fully supplied) with the necessary tools for the classroom. With increasing costs for school supplies being downloaded on parents, some children will come up short, unable to provide all the necessary materiel for the classroom.
And with parents being bombarded with ‘back to school supplies’ advertisements on television and in flyers, not all parents will be able to afford the complete ‘list’ of requisite classroom materiel.
Which is why ICNA Food Bank and Resource Center is stepping up to help out parents who are having difficulty completing the shopping list of their children’s school supplies.
Its campaign is ongoing, so they’re encouraging all who can to lend a hand to make ‘the back-to-school’ woes as stress-free as possible for parents who may be financially stretched, especially at this time of the year.
If you have school-aged children, you already know the list of essential supplies: school bag, lunch bag, reusable water bottle, pens or pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, glue sticks, pocket folders, binders, geometry set, ruled sheets, pencil case, highlighters, red/blue/black pens, exercise books, subject dividers, coloring pencils, crayons, markers…
In-kind donations can be dropped off at the Center,
5876 Upper Lachine Road. If you’re unable to drop off items, contact 514-482-7070, or by
e-mail montrealfb@icnareliefcanada.ca.
The school supplies drive will continue until the end of August.
