Evening of Blessing
The event allowed about 30 Montreal families to enjoy Christmas hampers and close to 150 concert-goers to enjoy an offering of scrumptious dining and blissful music all packaged in what organizers called an Evening of Blessing, hosted by Atlantic Driving School at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Church Hall in West NDG on December 19.
Among the many highlights of the evening were performances by a cast of exciting performers, each of whom added a unique flavor to the show and kept the guests properly entertained.
Isa Davidson and friends from Concordia University’s Music Department, including (Anuschka, Jorge and Tan) offered a highly inspiring performance that transported the audience to higher realm .
Acclaimed Montreal Diva of song, Cleopatra Marshall was on point in her acapella delivery of some seasonal favourites, so too was long-time front man Glenroy Valentine-Rice.
More memorable performances were delivered by saxophonist Charles Claxton and comedian Rhema The Hairdresser, while teenaged brother and sister, Israel and Persia Dial and their cousin Lannysha kept the audience rapt in their talent and enthusiasm.
Event organizer Rosie Philip came to Montreal from St. Lucia a little over two-and-a-half decades ago, and single-handedly built Atlantic Driving School into a thriving enterprise that offers the highest level of Drivers’ Education to dozens of Montrealers every year.
She praised those in the community who supported the event and urged those who can to extend a hand to those in need.
