A torrential rain kept headliner Iba Mahr off the stage but it didn’t dampened spirits at Jamaica Day, which enjoyed one of largest crowds in recent years on July 13, at the Les Weekends du Monde celebrations at Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Other performers including, King Shadrock, Kaisha Lee, Jason Valentino, Mysta (Ottawa) and Gospel dynamo Zina Edwards as well as Salah Steel Pan Academy, West Can Folk Performing Company and INUSASO Reggae Band, were enough to keep the crowd well entertained.
The Day turned out to be a spectacular showcase of Jamaican music, culinary delights, arts and craft as well as a taste of the other Caribbean islands.
