In his 20 years or so on the reggae circuit, Ed Robinson has made a statement with his versatility.
A competent musician who was a drummer for many years, Robinson also dabbled at the production end of the business for many years, working with many of the heavyweights in the reggae industry, such as Luciano, Maxi Priest, Buju Banton, Super Cat, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and the incomparable Dennis Brown.
But it is as a singer that he has created the most waves, releasing five albums and stringing a number of hits along the way that has made him a star among reggae lovers in the Caribbean, North America and Europe.
One of his biggest hits “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” came off his first album Once Again, released by VP Records.
Since then a string of other hits, including, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down, If I follow My Heart, “Bad Minded People,” “Skin I’m In, “Burnin’ and Lootin’” and “Our Heroes” followed, helping him to cement his place in the annals of reggae music.
On Saturday, December 19, lovers of Roots Reggae and music for dance will get a chance to experience the power of one of reggae’s most powerful voices when Ed Robinson comes to the MCSO at 7401 Newman Blvd. in LaSalle for a Pre Christmas Show and Dance.
He will be joined on stage by Singer Robin, Mello G and other local stars. Tickets available at community outlets, including Princessa in LaSalle and Natural Beauty.
