“It’s a Wonderful Life”

Montrealers who are in the mood for a nice family oriented Holiday theatre should flock to the DB Clarke Theatre at the Sir George Williams Campus to take in Geordie Productions “It’s a Wonderful Life,” the Holiday classic.
This Montreal presentation, which is directed by Mike Payette is made special by the appearance of this city’s most accomplished and celebrated law, business and media personalities performing on stage including CBC’s newsman Sean Henry and former CJAD broadcaster Tracey McKee.
Also in the cast are Ali T. Argun, Juliette Arsenault, Phil Arsenault, Trevor Botkin, Owen Bruemmer, Jean-François Buffoni, Pepita Capriolo, Morgan Doke, Nicholas Doyon, Brian Edgar, Robert Gervais, Angèle Knight, Maika Lafrance, Curtis Legault, Patricia Manessy, Sterling Mawhinney, Peter McCusker, Madelaine McTavish, Lindsay Milner, David Morris, Andre Morris, Lesley Pahl, Neil Peden, Aidan Raza, Clive Raza, John Raza, Brian Riordan, and Aline Zafirian.

Culture Sundays: Dan Fyah Beats and Blessed

Two of Canada’s biggest names on the cultural reggae scene, Dan Fyah Beats of Montreal and Toronto’s Blessed are set to take to the stage at Club Ujo, 3701 Jean Talon for a massive show as part of the Culture Sundays promotion.
The two heavyweights are highly accomplished musicians who have stayed true to the genre and have garnered widespread followings.
Blessed earned a JUNO in 2002 and was nominated in 2003 and 2004.
Dan Fyah Beats have played with big names such as Everton Blender, Sugar Minott and the  Mighty Diamonds.

Entertainment Galore at Westmount SDA Banquet

On Sunday, December 11, the social committee of the Westmount Seventh Day Church calls on all Montrealers to join them at the Holiday Inn on Cote des Leisse for their annual Christmas Banquet.
They promise an evening of not only fine dining but also an event packed with entertainment, headlined by Stephan Noel, one of our community’s most exciting soloists.
He will be joined on stage by other young and exciting artists such as Shanni Theodora, Janet Jackson and an ensemble from the ever-popular Joybells. Saxophonist Dexter Johnson will also make an appearance.
And because the event is going on to its 20th anniversary, organizers Patricia Beckford and Antoinette Spence have a super show planned that will provoke laughter and a fun-filled evening for all.
They promise that the Christmas spirit will be in full flow on December 11.
Dinner is at 7:00 PM. All money raised will go towards renovations on the church kitchen.

The spirit of the Holidays comes alive at Caribbean paradise Lounge in LaSalle on Sunday, December 4, when Black Moses Promotions present a Christmas concert flavored with some parang music.
The show, which promises to be uplifting, spiritual and entertaining, will feature performers of all ages representing a variety of musical genres:
Christmas carols, parang, drumming, and some originals…
Several top-notch performers are carded to appear on this fourth anniversary blockbuster show, including Julian McIntosh, Skippy, Caribbean Voices, Loveman Kent, Sweetz and Sugarman. They will be joined by a line-up of emerging stars such as Ushana (aka Makeba), Brea Marie, Ezra, Kemi and Timara. The ACD Drummers are also set to appear.

Lady D with Nadine will be hosting their 14th annual “The Ballers Ball” Black and White. It’s a Canadian Connection at Royal Alexandra Ballroom, 875 Notre Dame, Lachine, on Saturday, December 3. HAWKS INTERNATIONAL NEW YEAR’S EVE BALL
