Father And Son Dueling Pianos on Feb 3

On February 3, for Black History Month 2018, Grenada-born and Toronto-based pianist Eddie Bullen will bring his virtuosity to the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall together with  his son Quincy for an exciting musical evening of dueling pianos.
Organizers say it’s an opportunity to explore and enjoy the music and story of a father and son’s journey to keep alive the family tradition of musical excellence
The show will feature the Bullens’ extraordinary interpretations of some best loved jazz and contemporary music highlighted by their captivating musical arrangements and sprinkled by interesting and amusing commentary about the father – son relationship and their unique family history.
They will relive key moments that shaped their bond as the father pushes his son to be the best that he can be, no matter the odds.  It promises to be a testimony of how music can be used to bring families together.

A call to seniors to get Active at Centre Greene

Centre Greene is offering seniors a new fitness program for seniors of Montreal aimed to get them up, get them out and get them active.
The project began in Sept 2017, and the Centre is now on track with Phase 2.
Organizers say the 2018 session will consist of two new classes and one recurring class brought back by popular demand.
On Mondays, there is the Gentle Flow Chair Yoga led by the Yoga guru himself Mark Callender, followed by Afro Caribbean Tuesdays with legendary instructor/dancer Selwyn Joseph and on Thursday, seniors can participate in Yogalates, facilitated by the originator of the practice Bruce “Amasi” Smalls.
Centre Greene is inviting seniors to join them Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until March 29th at Greene Avenue Community Centre in Westmount. All classes are tailored and free for persons 50+

Night of Elegance Eight

Event coordinator Judy LaMotte has put together a Pre-Valentine show and dance  that offers guests a taste of some of our   best performers: The West Can Junior Dancers and Drummers as well as the massively popular Ukpong,  the pan soloist.
It’s all part of the event that marks Montreal’s season of love and friendship,  the annual  Night of Elegance which takes place  on Saturday, February 3, at the beautiful Plaza Volare, 6600 Cote de Liesse.
Music for dancing will be supplied by  DJ Star Q and cocktails begin at 6:00 pm which includes an open wine station, followed by a scrumptious four course meal with an exotic Canadian/Caribbean to follow later in the evening. TRIBUTE TO BOB MARLEY on Feb 10

GRENADA’S INDEPENDENCE GALA on Feb 17

Montrealers are invited to be with invite The Grenada’s Nationals Association and friends of the Spice Island as they celebrate their 44th independence Gala on Saturday February 17, at the Holiday Inn on 6500 Cote De Liesse.
