 Fashion, Dinner and Dance on Jan.28

The runway at Le Manoir in NDG 5319 Notre Dame De Grace Ave. is expected to sparkle on Saturday, January 28th as a parade of Montreal’s most exciting model sashay in the style of some of the top fashion houses in the city.
Organizers of the of the pre-Valentines event are inviting Montrealers to be part of what is expected to be one of the more exciting events for 2017 as designers from OONU Fashions, MAD Fashions, Sparkle Boutique, Empire Neesh and Wire Bra Finery will be on hand to showcase their best for the evening.
The event is a presentation of Cornucopia Association of Canada and will be coordinated by Don McNichols and Brian Kotler. Nadine of Positive Vibes (CKUT 90.3 FM) will serve as MC. NIGHT OF ELEGANCE CELEBRATES FRIENDSHIP

That special bond that ties people together will be in focus on Saturday, February 4th when the  “Night of Elegance” celebrates love and friendship at the International Ballroom of the exquisite Plaza Volare – Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Organizers are going beyond expectations for this 7th anniversary celebration in an evening of fine dining and non-stop dancing bookmarked by a lavish cocktail hour with a specialty wine station and an exotic Canadian/Caribbean sweet table.

A TASTE OF TEA AND “ALL THAT JAZZ”

Come meet the wonderful women of Jazz, Gospel, Soul and R&B who uplift our community for years, as we present them with the “Woman of Merit” Award: Kim Richardson, Renée Lee, Vivienne Deane, Michelle Sweeney, Zina Edwards and Geraldine Hunt.  A glorious afternoon of music, entertainment and Caribbean indulgencies.

Montreal Caribbean Fashion Week THIS SPRING

Playmas Montreal  announces the return  of “Montreal Caribbean Fashion Week”, a dazzling fashion extravaganza featuring a parade of  professional models from Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica w along with the Montreal Ebony Models showing off the styles of   designers from the Caribbean, Montreal, Toronto and the United States.
The show will be staged under the expert guidance of Trinidad and Tobago’s fashionista and impresario, Richard Young, serving as artistic director and choreographed by Montreal’s fashion icon, Dale King.
It takes place from Wednesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Museum Grévin, Montreal’s most entertaining Wax Museum located on the 5th Floor of the Eaton Centre.
Montreal Caribbean Fashion Week will provide fashion lovers an opportunity to meet and network with today’s cutting-edge fashion designers, local and international fashion models, make-up artists, hair stylists and industry business experts while enjoying and celebrating the sass and sizzle of Caribbean-inspired fashion and culture.

Montreal Dub Session Dance Hall Nights

Montreal Dub Session will keep reggae music  in free-flow over the next two weekends with special shows. On January 14 at Marche A Cote, 5043 St. St Denis, Selecta Bunny and DJ Horg will be featured. Then on January 21, Ms. Diva will star at the Crobar for the Sweet Jamaica Dance Hall Nights  in a Seven  Shades of Love Showcase. It runs from  10 PM to 3 AM

ERS Training and Development Corporation are offering a 22-week employment preparation program that will run from January 16 to June 16. Participants will benefit from job search skills/interview skills/CV’s, personal development workshops, exploring career opportunities and many more.
They will also learn the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and French conversation, all under the expert guidance of an experienced and supportive staff. Training is followed by a three-week internship.
The program is open to those who are unemployed and having difficulties obtaining employment and able to demonstrate that they’re need of acquiring skills,
Participants may receive an employment assistance allowance and or child- care cost.
