Thousands packed the Jerk Food festival

It turned out to be one of the biggest outdoor events for the summer in our community, as food lovers converged in droves on the Soccerplex in Lachine to the city’s first Jerk Food Festival on Saturday, June 24, St. Jean Baptiste Day.
The line-ups were long as people waited for extended periods to sample the many jerk delights that were on hand, but the complaints were few because the atmosphere overflowed with love and excitement as music flowed from a host of performers and deejays.
And as they do whenever they’re in Montreal, Jamaica’s top ranking Stone Love Sound System kept the crowd bubbling for much of the evening.
