Sister Henrietta Gertrude Johnson was the center of attention at an event organized on her behalf by fellow members of the choir at the Montreal West Church Of God Of Prophecy on Sunday, July 28.
The celebration was to recognize her dedication and extended service to the choir. Sister Johnson is one of three original members still with the group, which was formed in 1985 under the direction of Sister Bernice Gayle, who continues to serve as the director.
As expected, the celebration was a joyous occasion with an overflow of food, music and laughter as friends and family toasted the eighty-something year old with stories and songs.
Her children, other family members and friends made the journey from Jamaica and the USA to be with Ms. Girlie as she is called.
