Austin Clarke at “The Legacy Continues”

Cornucopia Association of Canada and Best Bite Catering come together on Saturday, August 29, to celebrate youth and our community’s enduring legacy of learning.
At the event, several young Montrealers will be awarded scholarships and the community gets an opportunity to meet one of Canada’s preeminent writers, Mr Austin Clarke.
A former writer in residence at Concordia University and the University of Western Ontario, the Barbados-born Clarke is the author of several prize-winning books, including the Giller Prize for The Polished Hoe in 2002, which was followed by him attaining the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize in 2003. Then in 2012 the former journalist, university professor and politician was announced as the winner of the $10,000 Harbourfront Festival Prize “on the merits of his published work and efforts in fostering literary talent in new and aspiring writers.”
Mr. Clarke will join the community in at Schofield Hall, 90 Roosevelt Ave. as part of the celebration of The Legacy Continues Youth Scholarship Awards.
