On November 26, Women on the Rise (WOR) is inviting Montrealers to kick off the Holiday season by finding something exciting at their grand bazaar to be held at 6870 Terrbonne in NDG from 9AM to 2:30 PM.
Organizers say that because they have such a wide range of items, including for kitchen and bathroom, furniture, men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, luggage, handbags, books, CDs, tools, and jewelry, they guarantee that everyone will find something to hold on to.
And as an added treat, they will be offering a yummy assortment of baked goods such as cakes, cookies and cupcakes.
They will top off the day with a big raffle grand prize of a HD TV.
The event is geared to raise funds that will to assist WOR to provide support programs to parents with newborns to age five.
Over the years, the organization has assisted hundreds of mothers and children on their journeys through the first years of childhood development by coordinating family-focused activities in order to foster the parent-child relationship during its early stages.
Because many of the organization’s clientele are new immigrants to Quebec, its program helps to introduce mothers to the cultural parenting norms in Quebec, as well as assist in mother and child bonding.
Much of the efforts of Women On The Rise are aimed at helping vulnerable families and preventing problems associated with at-risk factors such as low-income, single parents and isolation.
It also offers programs to nurture preschool children and prepare them for new environments and cultures with which their parents are unfamiliar. And over the years they have developed an extensive health and social services support network.
To help them get their work done, they are calling on Montrealers to come to their Grand Bazaar on Saturday, November 26. For more information call 514-485-7814.
