Back for a third year in a row, #SheDidThat is now offering to cover the majority of the costs to attend prom for two lucky Montreal teenagers.
Founders Katrina Nurse and Tamraa Greenidge started the initiative to help a deserving girl in the community make her prom a fun and memorable experience. Winners were treated to a free hair and makeup appointment, a dress, shoes, professional photography and free transportation to their prom.
The jackpot stays the same for this year’s female winner, but this year they’ve decided to offer a similar prize to a young man as well. The male winner will receive a new suit, shirt, tie, socks and shoes sponsored by RW & Co, a fresh haircut, corsage for their date, prom ticket payment, professional pictures taken throughout the night and payment of their portion towards transportation to the big event.
Entrants must be must be 16 or 17 years old, of  Caribbean heritage, have an overall average of 80 per cent or more in their report card and write a 500-word essay explaining why they deserve the support of #SheDidThat for their 2016 prom. The deadline to apply is March 1. For more information, visit the website: shedidthatprom.com.
