Jackie Robinson Golf on July 17

On Friday, July 17, 2015, the Jackie Robinson Annual International Golf Tournament will be held at one of the premier golf courses in the Montreal area, Golf Saint-Raphaël. The event is hosted annually by the Black Academic Scholarship Fund (BASF) to raise funds for its scholarship program to provide financial assistance to visible minority students who are currently pursuing a programme of study at an accredited institution and are in good academic standing. It was an astounding feat for 22-year-old Samantha Spence representing Jamaica at the annual Miss Montreal Carnival Queen extravaganza for an enthusiastic audience at Le Manoir on Saturday, June 6. Performing an inspiring spoken word piece, Samantha easily copped the “best talent” segment of the show, along with best evening wear, Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality. In the end she walked away with the title of “Miss Montreal Queen Carnival Queen.” Her prizes included a trip to the Miami Carnival and to the Vincy picnic in New York this summer. Inspiration in free Flow as Union United Church Congregation Returns Home

Contact Staff It was a celebration like no other for the congregation of Union United Church and the hundreds of Montrealers who joined them for their big home-coming service at 3007 Deslisle in St. Henri, on June 14. After four years of worshipping in NDG, while their 107 year-old building was refurbished, the congregation returned home with a Celebratory Thanksgiving Worship Service led by Rev.
