The Cote des Neiges Black Community Association (CDNBCA), a leading provider of services to the community, today announced that they have contracted Sean Frederick as their new head coach for their Falcon’s youth basketball program.
The organization is pleased with Frederick coming on board to lead the successful program as they believe his contribution will help to elevate the program to new heights.
The Falcons basketball program, operating from the Lavoie High School gym, has become a hub for developing young basketball players in Cote des Neiges for over 10 years, while even attracting players from other parts of the city. The program offers developmental basketball during the academic school year and a basketball camp during the summer.
This spring, Frederick along with the support of CDNBCA’s new Program Coordinator, Denburk Reid, have designed two series of basketball clinics for players 6-16 years old. The clinics, which are 5 sessions each from 1:30pm-4:30pm, will focus on fundamental basketball skill development and essential training to improve performance on the court.
“As the basketball season comes to a close,” says Reid “We are offering the opportunity for the kids to continue to practice and develop their basketball skills in a safe environment with coaches and volunteers who can help them take it to the next level.”
The clinics are held on Saturdays at the Lavoie High School gym, they begin April 2nd and the second on May 7th 2016, priced at $40 for one or $70 for both clinics.
The clinics are open to the public, however spaces are limited. Parents can register online at CDNBCA’s website, www.cdnbca.org or at the head office from March 28th to April 1st from 10am to 6pm. For more information, please call 514-737-8321 ext. 220.
