KERWIN DOUGAN
27-Oct-1961 – 16-Aug-2023

Former longtime resident of Montreal, Kerwin Dougan died of a short illness on August 16 in his home peacefully surrounded by family. Kerwin was predeceased by his parents Lorna and Ashwin Dougan.
Prior to moving to Ottawa in the mid 80s, Kerwin was an active part of Montreal cultural life in NDG and then in LaSalle. He participated in sports excelling in basketball. He was most fondly remembered for hosting legendary house-parties.
Known as Dougan, he had a knack for meeting people, striking up a conversation then turning any and everyone into long life friends. He repeated this around the world.
Upon moving to Ottawa, Kerwin opened a successful travel agency, Voyage G-Travel, where he served community, business and government travellers.
At Kerwin’s cote, he was a community person, he pursued contributed to the building of Ottawa Caribbean life, with several Caribbean
initiatives and lots of parties often featuring Montreal DJs on the bill.
Kerwin is survived by his beloved Auntie Joyce Walker. His four siblings: Ansel, Ian, Gillian and Wendell Dougan and Sister-in-law Claudette Knuckle-Dougan who shared the joys of life with Kerwin, creating cherished memories and bonds that will last forever.
His nieces and nephews: Travis, Sophia, Ayana, Jae-Anthony, Janai, Sylvanus, Lyngell, Michael, Alexann and Candice. Grand nieces and nephews: Tevaughn, Tayja, Janiah, Khaleel, Tyce, Tiana and Paris, whom he adored and mentored, leaving an imprint of wisdom, laughter, and inspiration in their lives.
Several cousins and extended family from Canada, USA and Trinidad and Tobago who loved, supported, and created lasting memories which formed the foundation of their family legacy, especially Auntie Claire.
Kerwin held dear friends close to his heart, exemplifying that friendship can be as strong as the closest of kin. His dear friends to name a few: Ethan, Mel, Michelle, Marsha-Ann, Sonia, Kysha, Lisa, Anne Marie, Evette, Vandra, Wayne, David (DSS), Patrick (Sunshine Intl), Dexter, Gus, Brooks, Jeff, Adrianne, Herika, Jamila and Lou were a cherished part of his life. Together, they laughed, shared stories, and forged a connection that was as deep as it was ever-lasting.
A Celebration of Kerwin’s Life was conducted by Rev. Dr. Bailey Parkdale United Church on September 1, in Ottawa and is interned with his parents.

The family wishes to thank the many well wishers who reached to them and came in from Montreal, Toronto and New Jersey during their bereavement. Donations in Kerwin’s name can be made to the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation for Cancer Research

Susan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

She is survived by her sister Vera, and predeceased by her sisters Isodine, Ida, Clarissa, and Inez, and her brothers Henry, James, and Leslie. Mother to Petrona, Levy, Walter, and Fay, and grandmother to Eulalee, Winston, David, Sandra, Donna, Michelle, Sheremy, Stacey and Tappah. She will also be szzzzorely missed by her numerous great- grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will take place at the Kane Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella) on Tuesday, October 19, from 2:00-5:00 and from 7:00-9:00. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 20 at 12:00. The service will also be accessible online through Kane Fetterly bsite. The interment will take place at Mount Royal Cemetery following the service.

Beulah Simmon
June 21, 1930 – Oct. 13, 2019

Beulah Simmons formerly of Trinidad and Tobago lived
in St Constance, Quebec since 1985.
She was the mother of Ian Pierre
Grandmother of Curtis and Leslie- Ann
Great grandmother of four.
Rest In Peace.
