Friday June 14, 2014 was the inaugural Dr. Oliver Jones Golf Tournament. The day was perfect – sunshine, a light breeze and summery temperatures… and by all accounts, a good time was had by all at Glendale Golf Course in Mirabel.
Last year, Dr. Oliver Jones and his foursome were the first to tee off following a warm send-off from the volunteer ladies in red. Eighteen holes of golf later, everyone returned to the clubhouse for dinner, an auction and prizes galore. Just about everyone who participated that day went home with something to remind them of the great time they had.
It’s no surprise, then, that based on popular demand, the second of what could possibly become an annual event hosted by Union United Church’s Capital Campaign to raise funds for the church’s ongoing renovation project is in the works.
This year, the Dr. Oliver Jones Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, August 14 at Atlantide Golf Course in Notre-Dame-de l’Île Perrot. Based on last year’s event, we’re hoping to see more golfers on the green this year. In addition to golf, there will be prizes, raffles and more… It promises to be another fantastic event. Registration begins at 10 AM, followed by breakfast, with Vegas tee off at 12 PM.
After enjoying a fun day on the golf course, participants will be served a sumptuous dinner.
It will be the dog days of summer, so we hope to see as many of you as possible enjoying this late summer event. If you’re coming, bring a friend.
