Jalisa, who is following in the path of a long list of achievers in her family, is on her way to a career as a Child Psychologist and has already been accepted into the Masters Applied Child Psychology program at McGill University for fall 2016. When I started studying Nursing at CEGEP I didn’t think it would be such a difficult task ahead. But here I am five years later very proud, feeling fulfilled as a McGill graduate.
The unrelenting support, prayers and well wishes of my family, my mother Sandra Thornhill in particular, my friends and other segments of the community helped carry me to this level.
Nursing allows me to spend my time and energy assisting others to improve their resilience in more ways than one.
I now aspire to expand my scope of experience and embrace the multitude of roles a nurse plays. I do look forward to also continuing my formal education.
