Melissa Lena Ross speaks to seniors

On Tuesday, January 26, Melissa Lena Ross, owner  and pharmacist of  Pharmaprix, Montreal West will speak to seniors at the BCRC in a workshop titled  ‘Ask the Pharmacist’ at 3pm, at 6767 Cote des Neiges room 697. All are invited to have their questions answered on issues of health and medication.
Then on Thursday, January 28 at 11am, Sean Seales  FINANCIAL PLANNER of Othello Wealth Partners will speak on  ‘Why Have a FINANCIAL PLAN in Room 694. Both events are presented by the BCRC Seniors program. For more information call 514-342-2247

Celebrate Grenada at a gala event

On February 6, Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique will be celebrated at a gala event to mark the nation’s 42nd Anniversary of Independence on Saturday, February 6 at Le Manoir, 5319 Notre Dame De Grace Ave., Montreal.
The evening, which will also include an award ceremony, cultural show and dance will be highlighted by a keynote address to be given by the Honourable Delma Thomas, Grenada’s minister for Social Development, Housing and Community Development.
The show will be headlined by Grenada’s veteran entertainer Christopher “Squeezie” Antoine who will be sharing the stage with calypsonians Praying Mantis, Doggies and Sugarman. The Grenada Ensemble will also be on hand to thrill the audience.
The event is hosted by the Grenada Nationals Association of Montreal, Inc. under the auspices of Grenada’s Honorary Consul in Montreal, Mr. Leonard Wharwood Jr.

Red Hat Affair at le Manoir

It promises to be an evening of music, poetry and comedy as Montreal’s  stylish set show off their special red hats.
At the end of the evening,  the most fabulous one will walk away with a special prize including a trophy and cash.
The Red Hat Affair is set to go  on January 30 at Le Manoir, 5319 rue Notre-Dame-de-Grace and the watchword will be fun and excitement. The event is a production of 2Olivebranchproduction, Sable Christian Network and BMA Christian Ministries. Admission is $20 but children under 15 pay only $10.

Successful Women Workshop

Leadership Strategist Jacqueline Morrison will be holding a women’s workshop at the Atwater Library. The aim is to empower, inspire and equip women to realize their purpose and maximize their potential. See Guyana’s 1889-Cent Bread Riot

As part of Guyana’s 50th Anniversary Independence celebrations and Black History Month, the Guyana Cultural Association of Montreal will be showing the 1889 Cent Bread Riot at St. Paul Church   3970, Cote-Ste. Catherine Road. Sunday February 28, at 4. 30 p. m
The history of Guyana has been shaped by the participation of many national and ethnic groups, as well as the colonial policies of the Spanish, French, Dutch and British. Come and learn about the people and events that characterized and shaped the country’s struggle to free itself from colonial rule, and the lingering effects of colonialism.

Rockheads Memorial Pool Tournament

All pool-sharks and fun loving Montrealers are invited to participate in the 4th Annual Ken Rockheads Memorial Pool Tournament on Sunday January 31, 2016, Le Skratch, 7803 Newman Boul. which will benefit the ALS Society 12:00p.m.
