January 27, 2018 marks the 32nd annual Black Theatre Workshop’s Vision
Celebration Gala and four Montrealers for their contributions to arts and for their achievements.
Mr. Don Jordan will be the recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Achievement Award, and Mr. Denburk Reid, will received the Dr. Clarence Bayne Community Service Award.
Also being honoured that night will be two emerging artists who will be receiving the Victor Phillips and Gloria Mitchell-Aleong Awards.
Don Jordan, a Montreal-based actor/voice-actor, choreographer, singer, teacher and director has had a lengthy career on the Montreal and Canadians arts scene. He will be celebrated “for his significant contribution to the development of the Black arts and cultural life.”
His work includes lending his voice to the character, Irving Lamert in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game series.
Denburk Reid is the founder/president of the MontrealCommunity Cares Foundation (MCCF), which empowers youth by helping them developing leadership skills and helps them build bridges with other communities.
The MCCF also recognizes selected Montrealers for their achievements and contributions at its annual awards gala.
