On April 15, 2018, Playmas Montreal Cultural Association will be honouring men in our community who have been excellent role models to their children and our youth.
Entitled “LET’S HEAR IT 4 THE BOYS,” this inaugural event, scheduled for April 15, at the Days Inn Hotel, located at 4545 Cote Vertu West in Ville St. Laurent, will recognize four fathers who are the prevalent parent raising their children: Leonard Wharwood Jr, Honorable Consul for Grenada in Quebec; Eddie Bullen, songwriter and musician, Michael Farkas, president of Black History Month Round Table and Tony Taitt, entrepreneur.
“This event will be held in the form of a Musical Brunch from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will attempt to remove the negative images and the stigma associated with men in our society,” says Gemma Raeburn-Baynes, president of Playmas.
The presenters of the first “BLACK MAN MERIT AWARD” will be positive young men who are great role models in their field: culinary arts, medicine, law, business, entertainment, journalism, sports, politics. We invite the community to “Give the Boys a Hand” and join us in recognizing our young men and being proud of their amazing work.
This 19-dish Luncheon Menu will be accompanied with entertainment provided by Eddie and Quincy Bullen, Father and Son Dueling Pianos, back by popular demand. Also on the entertainment bill will be Mr. CeCe Walker and more.
Tickets are $35 and available at Caribbean Curry House (Montreal), Caribbean Paradise Restaurant (LaSalle) and Marché Colonnade (West Island).
